Established in 1994, the Department of Neurology at Sri Ramachandra Medical College (SRMC) stands as a trailblazing institution in neurological education, research, and patient care. Under the stewardship of distinguished leaders such as Dr. Ramesh M, Dr. S S K Ayyar, Dr. Vasudevan, Prof. U Meenakshisundaram, Prof. C U Velmurugendran, Prof. Shankar. V, and Prof. Sundar, we have consistently pursued excellence and innovation across all domains. Currently helmed by Prof. Lakshminarasimhan Ranganathan, our department remains committed to advancing the frontiers of neurology, shaping the next generation of neurologists, and delivering compassionate care to our patients. At the heart of our department lies a steadfast commitment to academic excellence and professional development. In 1999, we took a significant step forward with the inception of the DM (Neurology) course, marking a pivotal moment in our academic journey. Since then, we have produced candidates from the program, each equipped with the knowledge, skills, and expertise to excel in their respective careers as educators and practitioners. Our comprehensive educational programs encompass a lectures, clinical rotations, research opportunities, and hands-on training experiences, ensuring that our students receive a well-rounded and immersive learning experience.
