About the Department
The Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology is a superspeciality department catering to the needs of evergrowing patient population with rheumatological ailments. SRMC is one of the very few centres in southeast asia with 4 fully qualified DM Rheumatologists. Our department follows a principle that “teamwork never fails”. This team led by the wisdom of Dr. S. Rajeswari, a renowned academician has established a state of the art department with vibrant, energetic and enthusiastic Rheumatologists focusing on providing holistic care for Rheumatic diseases. Our team also includes Assistant physicians, physiotherapists, and trained staff nurses forming an integral part of patient care. Patients with Rheumatological ailments are often misdiagnosed and mistreated due to lack of awareness amongst the general public, hence we have dedicated social worker to educate the patient in depth about the disease and clear the myths about the disease and treatment.
