About the department

Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher education and Research (Deemed to be University) SRIHER (DU) was the first teaching university to offer Speech language clinical services in the year 1995 in the state of Tamil Nadu. The Department of Speech Language Pathology was recognized as an independent department under Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology by the board of management of SRIHER (DU) in the year Dept. of Speech Language Pathology is involved in research, clinical services, academic and clinical teaching related to the field of Speech Language Pathology for the
past 28 years.. The Unit is spread around the campus at the medical centre, 2nd floor, Smt. Kamalam Udayar block, 2 nd and 4 th floor Vidya Sudha block and SAHAYA, Sri Ramachandra Rehabilitation Centre, 1 st floor, hospital annexe block.
