About the Department

The Department of Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine was started in the Year 2005. This
department is one of its kind in South India with advanced medical care to athletes and the
general population suffering from ailments of joints.

With over 5000 patients receiving In patient and outpatient care annually, Arthroscopic
minimally invasive surgeries and Sports Medicine Services are provided with very high
standards meeting the international clinical protocols under the guidance of experts. Fully
equipped operation theatres with state of the art imported equipment and instruments for
conducting all advanced arthroscopic surgeries of Knee, Shoulder, Ankle, Hip, Elbow and
wrist joints.

The Department provides its services via the Sri Ramachandra Centre for Sports Science,
which is a one of a kind facility with state of the art labs and facilities for Sports Medicine,
Sports Science, Sports Rehabilitation, Fitness & High Performance Centres and more. The
Centre is awarded with top international and national accreditations such as the International
Cricket Council (ICC), Board of Cricket Control in India (BBCI) and deemed a ‘Centre of
Excellence’ by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Sports Authority of India (SAI) & the
Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT).
