The main focus of clinical activities at the Department of SLP is to assess and manage the communication and swallowing abilities of individuals across the lifespan, and from a variety of linguistic backgrounds via in-person and tele-modes. We offer unique services in association with various departments at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre. The thrust areas of services have evolved depending on the needs of the population served, skills available and placement as a part of the medical centre serving rural and suburban population. We have consultants and clinicians’ specialized in the area of cleft lip and palate, voice,swallowing, stroke, neonatal critical care and early childhood developmental disorders. The
speciality clinics at the department are first of its kind in the country. The specialty clinics involve interaction with multidisciplinary teams including plastic surgeons, ENT surgeons, paediatricians, psychologists, neurologists, neonatologists etc.
