About the Department
The department of general surgery started in the year 1986 is one of the core departments of the Sri Ramachandra University. We cater to 10,000 patients annually encompassing both inpatients and outpatients (The figure highlighted is the IP and OP census). With eight units functioning all seven days of the week, we provide around the clock care for elective and emergency patients.With many eminent senior consultants and consultant who are well trained in the latest laparoscopic procedures, ours is a large team who provide premium care for the patients. With atleast 4 ORs functioning exclusively for general surgery on all days, we provide the best surgical care with good cosmesis and minimal complications for our patients. Simultaneously multiple day care procedures are done on a daily basis. We, along with the other departments strive to provide comprehensive treatment for the ailments of the patients, so they walk home smiling.There is always a drive towards self-betterment, and this motive is passed down through every member of the department including the post graduates. The surgical training and skills developed are on par with the best standards.
