The department of Paediatrics was ranked 10th best Paediatric clinical service in the country and 3rd best in the region by Times Health Survey in 2020.
CLINICAL SERVICES TIMINGS:
Outpatient services: Monday to Saturday: 8am – 8pm;
Sunday: 8.00 am to 12 noon
Emergency consult/PICU services/ Inpatient services : 24 x 7
GENERAL PAEDIATRIC CLINIC:
Caters to children upto 18 years age and provides curative and preventive services. Immunisations under National Universal Immunisation Program is given free. Optional vaccines are also available.
PAEDIATRIC INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (PICU)
The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is accredited as level 3 PICU by IAP Intensive Care Chapter. It is manned 24/7 by trained intensivists and intensive care nurses. Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is well equipped with:
- Multi parameter monitors (including invasive blood pressure monitoring)
- Pulse oximeters.
- Mechanical ventilation, high frequency ventilator
- Infusion pumps/syringe pumps
- Renal replacement therapy like haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis
- CVVH and plasmapheresis
- ECMO
- Bedside imaging services like ultrasound, X-ray, echocardiography, nitric oxide therapy are available.
- We also have a retrieval service to transport critically ill/injured children to our PICU.
PAEDIATRIC WARDS
Children are admitted to the Paediatric ward either from Paediatric OPD or Emergency Room. Once they are received in the ward, they are treated by highly qualified and experienced paediatricians and paediatric nurses in a child friendly and compassionate manner.
There is a separate play room with play materials for children. A television is also provided with children’s programmes. There are also private single and twin sharing rooms. There are also deluxe suits for international patients.
Therapeutic interventions are provided by a multidisciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Dieticians, Social Worker and Physiotherapists.
Paediatric Emergency Room (ER)
Expert paediatric care is available for acutely ill children 24/7. Our separate paediatric ER provides 24-hour care to infants, children and adolescents with emergency medical, surgical and traumatic conditions. They are assessed and stabilised with zero delay by trained Doctors and Paramedical persons.
