About the Department
Centre of Excellence in Radiology and Imaging Science (CERIS), Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre is well equipped with state of the art equipments, which includes several Color Doppler units, 128 slice CT scanner(GE Revolution EVO), 3T MRI (128channel GE Architect), advanced PET CT scanner, besides several plain X-ray units (CR and DR systems). The department caters to radio-diagnostic procedures, image guided interventions such as drainage and biopsy procedures. The department is also equipped with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) which uses computers and networks for storage, retrieval, distribution and presentation of images hospital wide. The department has qualified experienced Consultants who are skilled in various subspecialties like Musculoskeletalimaging, Women's Imaging, Neuroradiology, Chest Imaging, Abdominal imaging etc.
Department of Radiology - SRIHER has been recognized by the European Training Assessment Programme (ETAP 2.0) and awarded the Silver Certificate of Excellence in Radiology education (first in Asia). Several senior faculties are called for conducting workshop, seminars and lectures as guest faculties within the country and overseas. Interdepartmental meetings are conducted every month coordinated by individual radiologist assigned for each speciality meetings. The consultants and post-graduates of both departments participate in the process of case presentation and discussions. The Consultants also participate in Camps and Teleradiology consultations.
